Our main goal is to develop a comprehensive and effective system for the support of research (and educational) projects at Charles University from the EU programmes. The European Centre provides support in preparing project applications, methodological advice in project implementation and networking activities within the extensive networks in which Charles University participates (EARMA, CZARMA).
The European Centre plays a vital role in coordinating the UK's participation in the European University Alliance 4EU+.
This alliance comprises eight top European universities, whose primary objective is to achieve excellence in research, teaching, learning, and administrative support. Additionally, they aim to establish a conducive platform that enables the free movement of students, academic and administrative staff, ideas, and infrastructure sharing.
The Erasmus+ 1CORE project, which was awarded by the 4EU+ Alliance in 2022, has the objective of strengthening the development of the 4EU+ Alliance by creating the infrastructure of a Comprehensive European Research University. The project puts emphasis on revising educational and research structures, university governance, and the so-called third role to align with current European higher education trends.
By participating in the 4EU+ Alliance and the 1CORE project, Charles University is reinforcing its position among the leading European universities, and supporting its leading role in Central and Eastern Europe.
The ED-Affiche project by the European Commission aims to establish a "Joint European Degree label". Charles University is actively participating in the project to set the criteria and guidelines for this label. This ensures that the degree will meet the standards of Charles University and be recognized throughout the EU. The project also empowers the University to play a significant role in overcoming legal barriers and supporting the implementation of instruments derived from the Bologna Convention. This convention promotes flexibility and innovation in higher education. By participating in this project, Charles University strengthens its position in shaping the future of transnational cooperation. It also reinforces its commitment to excellence and innovation in higher education.
The Train4EU+ project aims to support the University Alliance in its pursuit of excellence in education, science and research. It is in line with one of the core objectives of the 4EU+ Alliance, which is to assist its researchers in advancing knowledge so that the resulting innovations and knowledge can help society tackle the most significant challenges of our time.
The 4EU+ Alliance was awarded the Erasmus+ project EUP from 2017-2022. Its aim was to establish an efficient communication system between top European universities to promote flexible and integrated inter-university cooperation.
Collaboration is crucial for progress in education, research, and innovation. It allows for the effective sharing of knowledge and resources, which is essential for fostering interdisciplinary approaches and creating new research and career opportunities. Collaborating within universities leads to better resource utilization and stimulates research activities while working together at a national level contributes to the transfer of scientific knowledge and research results into practical applications.
