The ERC’s 2024 Work Programme has been adopted by the European Commission. The plan includes new elements in the assessment of research proposals and candidates’ CVs, and in the evaluation process. It also introduces lump sum funding in Advanced Grants and makes changes in the structure of evaluation panels.

Earlier this spring, more than thirty academics and senior professionals from LERU member universities and seven leading Central European universities (CE7) gathered at Charles University, Prague, for an inspiring seminar on research(er) assessment. The event, which was held on 16 and 17 March 2023, was organized within the context of the renewed LERU-CE7 partnership.

Erin Carson from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University will analyse numerical computations and search for new algorithms for computational systems thanks to a five-year grant.

As part of the EU’s response to the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine, MSCA4Ukraine’s dedicated fellowships will provide support to displaced researchers from Ukraine. This support will enable them to continue their work at academic and non-academic organisations in EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries, while maintaining their connections to research and innovation communities in Ukraine.
